People who have been in Manzanillo come back, that is fact. If you have never been of Manzanillo (or you have never heard of it), here is our two cents on why it is a great place to spend a vacation and why people who come once, return.
Manzanillo is a very calm beach destination on the Pacific located about 200 km south of Puerto Vallarta, although a drive takes about 4 hours but do not worry, it has its own international airport.
Manzanillo and even more so Club Santiago (the gated community) is ideal for families, the tide is very calm, the sand is soft and other than New Year's, Easter and official Mexican holidays, the beach is all yours and will in fact only see the occasional Canadian or American couple that are either visiting or spending the entire winter. A mini market with basics (and not so basics) is inside the community and a super short walk away.
While I personally go to relax and roll on the sand (don't believe me? look here), there are tons of things to do, from golf to bird watching, from fishing to ATV tours you are sure to find plenty things to do.
There are movie theaters, big supermarkets, lots of restaurants, For those that like to stick to North American chains, Manzanillo has Starbucks, Walmart, Blockbuster, etc.
